A REMARKABLE NEW YORK CITY "REGISTERED" USE COMBINING THE FIVE-RING TARGET AND FLUERON CDS.

This cover is rather unusual as New York usually struck the "Registered" straightline in red on foreign mail. This is the only recorded combination of these three NYC registry division markings struck together (Registered straightline, five-ring target cancel and flueron cds).

Harpers Ferry Va. "Registered", blue straightline ties 3¢ rose (65) along with "Harpers Ferry Va., Feb 23" cds duplex on orange cover to Hudson, Ohio, manuscript "Registered No 49" at top right; small flaws, F.-V.F.
