Dec 21, 1860" cds on folded cover to Copenhagen, Denmark , red "N. York Br. Pkt. Jan 16" exchange backstamp and red "12" cent credit handstamp, carried by Cunard Line Australasian from New York Jan. 16th to Queenstown arriving Jan. 26th, red "Aachen Franco" (1.29) framed transit datestamp, blue ms. "f. 2" rating, Hamburg (1.30) transit backstamps and Copenhagen (2.1) arrival cds; one 3¢ stamp slightly overlaps the edge of the cover affecting a couple of perfs, fresh and Extremely Fine, ex-Gabriel (Angel) .

    Camp Floyd, adjoining Fairfield on the West was established July 4, 1858 by Bvd. Brig. Gen. Albert Sydney Johnston and the Utah Expedionary Forces number about 3,000 men. Col. Phillip St. George Cooke suceeded in command Mar. 1, 1860, changin name to Fort Crittendon Feb. 6th 1861. It was abandoned July 1861. An overland stage station established in 1859 was operated until 1868 and a Pony Express Station from April 3, 1860 to October 26, 1861.

    Doaksville was one of the earliest post offices in what is now Oklahoma in the Choctaw Nation. It was named after Josiah Doak, who settled there after the treaty of Doak's Stand was signed in Mississippi in 1820, it was located near the mouth of the Kiamichi River off of the Red River. Fort Towson was garrisoned near there in 1824. It was the capital of Choctaw Nation between 1850 and 1863.
