Jackman, 9th Ky. Regiment, Lewis Brigade, Breckenridges Division, C.S.A , F.-V.F. through-the-lines cover via Flag of Truce.

Accompanied by 2005 letter from Horace Harrison discussing how this cover was sent from J.R. Jackman of Nelson County, Kentucky through the lines to his brother in August 1864 when virtually all of Kentucky was in Union hands, so anyone writing from there to a soldier in the field had to send by flag of truce.
